Life is good:

You know life is good when you get champ car motorsports reports in your email inbox. There’s a form of normalcy for me when that happens. It automatically puts a smile on my face and I love reading the reports from the team’s PR.

Things are coming along nicely for the series. Maybe not as fast as everyone would like it, but its becoming the norm in the series, so we might as well get used to it. Every off season we have the same discussions about car-count and potential drivers, sponsors and such and usually by Long beach (or in this case Vegas) things work out. They inevitably will again this year as they always do.

My congratulations to the series for getting the European races on the schedule. I think this is a big accomplishment for the series. I liked the press release saying that the series is in fact a World Series and that a balance of American and foreign races is on the agenda. I forget which race it was last year where I overheard the President Steve Johnson telling Eric Bachelart about the potential of going to Belgium and I honestly said to myself “this could be Johnson’s legacy within the series. If, and it’s a big if, but if he makes it happen, this will be huge for him and the series”. The man got it done. My congratulations.

I haven’t updated that much in the last couple of weeks because I don’t like writing simply for the sake of writing. If there is something worthy of discussing, then I will write. But when writing simply to fulfill a quota or deadline, that’s when rumors are started and spread. Paging Robin Miller….
But now that testing is underway and that driver announcements are coming along, then its time to keep the ball rolling!

Some of you may be wondering about my situation with the series and for the most part I am too. But things are progressing and it’s looking good for me next year. I can tell you that what the series is planning on doing in terms of new media is potentially very exciting. It’s all I know right now, but stay tuned (and maybe get yourself broadband or whatever fast internet is these days. ;) )
