Well, I am on my way to Las Vegas, and its been a pretty hectic week getting ready for this upcoming rock ‘n’ roll show. But I wanted to say goodbye to everyone and that I wish you were all coming with me.

I watched Champ Car Garage and thoroughly enjoyed the show. I liked the talking heads, cause those guys are always interesting and I liked the interview with KK. Nobody is better at promoting something than he is. He’s got the gift of gab when it comes to saying something that is truly inspirational and motivating and exciting. The man knows how to talk, but more importantly he’s shown us he knows how to walk the walk also.

I must admit that nearing the end of the show, it felt a little like an infomercial. But I am still trying to figure out whether that bugged me or not. I fully understand that this was a pilot and that the series needs all the exposure it can get and that Speed is predominantly a NASCAR channel. But I guess from someone who is on the quasi-inside, who goes to these races, and sees 150 thousand people over the weekend, and then watched a show that repeats the words “Champ Car World Series” every other sentence, it feels a little odd. Nonetheless, I thought the features were great, I thought the hosts were good and I certainly hope the series gets picked up and becomes a regular show on Speed. This is what the champcars need, this additional exposure and the more the merrier.

I missed Danica’s appearance on Letterman last night. I wish I could have stayed up, but this old dog had to get some sleep before today’s flight. My question is, why was she on? What had she done lately to merit an appearance? Is it simply because the series is in the neighborhood at the Glen? Come on. At least have Weldon, who all but clinched the championship, who has a record 6 IRL wins this season. No, that’s not worth an appearance at all. Then again, maybe he’s on tonight, I haven’t checked my local listings.

Most of the press I have read concerning the race this weekend has focused on the battle for 2nd. I suppose when you have won 100 percent of the races on superspeedways you tend to be taken out of the equation. But that’s a reality with Sebastien, who still claims to not be comfortable on these tracks. Come on Seabass, you’re two for two in a champcar.

The new generation of Champ Car should be introduced shortly. Certainly looking forward to that one. I have seen some models and designs and they look sharp. Also looking forward to the television schedule for next season. If this season is any indication, then races on network television are worth the price. The numbers on network continued to grow with every race, something that needs to happen again next year. Hopefully it will.

oh, I get to meet Mr. Johnson, our new president this weekend. I liked his press conference this week, but we'll see how he handles the tough Q and A that is This or that.
